Slurred Lines

Getting a chance to sing the National Anthem is pretty great… unless you are Ingrid Andress. Ingrid had the opportunity to sing the National Anthem at this year’s MLB Annual All-Star Game and, well, it didn’t go according to plan. The singer delivered an absolutely ear ruining version of “The Star Spangled Banner”. The singer later admitted that she delivered the anthem while hopelessly drunk and has admitted herself into rehab. At the very least, hopefully she gets the help she obviously needs. My question is, why on earth do we need an Anthem sung at the start of a game? What song should be played at the start of a game if it’s not the anthem?

The All-Star Experience

I don’t think anyone had a better All-Star weekend then Jarren Duran. The Red Sox slugger became the 5th Sox player to hoist the All-Star Game MVP after crushing a go-ahead dinger. For Duran it’s a massive career moment as the career .269 hitter is having an incredible season on a team that was slated to be a basement dweller. And as Dubs will tell you, no-one “All Stars” better then Sox sluggers! Congrats to the AL and to Jarren Duran!

Weekend Wagers!

It’s Friday which means its time for Weekend Wagers! Last week, I mistakenly gave you F1 bets for this week but they still stand. I’m also going to toss a few others out so if you forgot:

Hard to believe this… but I’m taking the Astros to win the AL West and I’m going way out on a limb here and taking Paul Skenes to win the NL Cy Young (that’s at +400). If he continues to win games and strike guys out, I think he has a popularity edge over Chris Sale and Zach Wheeler.
