Joey Votto- A Storied Career

Sadly the comeback attempt is over without ever having played a regular season game for the Blue Jays. Joey Votto announced on Wednesday that he is done and retiring from professional baseball. The most impactful Red for a generation, and one of the best hitters around will be remembered having only played for Cincinnati. He leaves the game of baseball as one of the “all-time” good guys with a career line that puts him in on the fringes of the Hall of Fame.

I will always be sad I never got to see him as a Blue Jay in front of a sold-out Rogers Center/Skydome crowd with the Jays in the playoff mix, but with the Jays season fully off the rails and Votto unable to get back into it (he was hitting .143 in AAA), this move seems to make the most sense. Congrats on one hell of a career fella!

A Tease (of sorts…)

With football season coming up next week, I wanted to drop this here for the loyal readers of this particular newsletter. We are going to go through a slight rebrand. WEEKEND WAGERS!

F1 is back this weekend and we also have some CFL, so lets get to a few Weekend wagers set to roll:

For Formula One, we have the Dutch GP so I’m going to take a parlay of Hamilton in the points, Piastri and Sainz in the top 6, and Norris on the Podium.

For the CFLm we have the Tiger Cats and Bluebombers. I’ll take the Bombers ML and the under on 48.5 points.

On Saturday, I’ll take the Lions ML and the under 50.5 points.

Moreover, I’ll also take the Allouettes ML and the Over 51.5 on Sunday.
