Hats, Stacks and Bats

Matthews on a Tear, DFS thoughts and Baseball spring training

Hats for Matt

Welcome back from a quick holiday (heritage day or family day in Canada and Presidents day in the US) Here is a rare instance where I am going to say nice things about a player who plays for a team I absolutely despise. Auston Matthews is on an absolute tear as of late netting back to back hat tricks (thats 3 goals in each game for the unaware). A few season ago Matthews hit the 60 goal mark adding 46 helpers. Last season he fell off a bit ONLY notching 40 (lol as if anyone should be mad at a 40 goal scorer) This season hes currently sitting at 49 Goals in only 53 games played. If he hits 70 hes likely a Strong candidate for MVP (though others might disagree). The bigger question is where does Auston Matthews finish if he stays healthy? hes at 348 goals as of the writing of this piece but id have to imagine he ends somewhere near the top all time.

Bats, Balls and Broken windows

MLB spring training typically leaves a lot to be desired. its really a time for working off the rust and getting back into rhythm. Aside from the “im in the best shape of my life comments” this might be my favorite thing to come out of Spring training so far. Elly De La Cruz was having an at bat against Hunter Greene when De La Cruz hit a foul ball….. That landed on the window of Greene’s car in the parking lot. Greene told De La Cruz he’d have to pay for that but Elly quipped back that Hunter Greene makes more Greene.
