Exactly Like We Planned It....

NHL MVP and A Relocation Problem

The NHL MVP Race

The NHL season is coming to a close and that means that we are going to hear a lot more about who “deserves” the MVP award, aka the Hart Trophy. While winning the Art Ross (most points) doesn’t guarantee one to win the Hart trophy, it certainly goes a long way. This season Kucherov has been absolutely destroying it. He currently is sitting at 133 points on the season (with MacKinnon and McDavid at 130 &126, respectively), so it seems like the Art Ross trophy is almost a foregone conclusion. However, I would also not be opposed to giving Kucherov the MVP nod. Without him early in the season, the Lightning would surely have been on the outside of the playoffs, looking in. Who do you think deserves the NHL MVP? Let us know on the Socials!

A Relocation Problem

The Oakland Athletics have decided to leave the “Bay Area” in favor of an overly elaborate and completely new Avant-garde stadium in Las Vegas. But while that is going on the Athletics have opted to drop their city moniker and will just be known as “the A’s”. For fans of the storied franchise, I can only imagine how hard it is to deal with not only losing the team but to have the name stripped before the move is official (until the formal relocation, they’ll be playing at Sutter Health Park, in Sacramento, during construction). To be blunt, this is another slap in the face to a franchise that deserves better. Winnipeg and Arizona in the NHL are both often looked at as potential relocation teams (Winnipeg the more recent of the two) as well as a few NBA teams. If I were any of them I would take a hard & serious look at what’s going on in Oakland. We hope, for their sake, that things turn around because this is a huge detriment to the sport we all know and love.
