The best of times

This time of year is great for a lot of reasons including the fact that the NHL is coming to the trade deadline, the NBA is in full swing, MLB offseason is almost wrapped up and the Super bowl is about to be played (there are a ton of other things going on including F1 testing, a billion Soccer games and Tennis but ill leave this to the 4 major North American sports). And while we sit here a week out from the Super Bowl I just want to remind everyone of this one inevitable moment. The Super bowl will be played and football will be essentially over (until offseason moves start happening and the draft). So no matter your feelings on who is playing in the Super Bowl (Go birds I guess) take some time to enjoy the games.
It was the worst of times

The only thing that makes these fun times truly enjoyable is having some sort of stake. I have none. My Blue Jays have become the laughing stock and leverage point for every free agent worth signing (thanks everyone for asking if they are on a plane…. they aren’t) and double shout out to Max Scherzer and Tony Taters for actually signing there. How can an organization go from competing in the playoffs with a legit shot to go to a world series and all of sudden become a destination for no one. its absolutely the worst feeling in the world. EVERY SINGLE GUY uses the Jays as leverage since they are prepared to over pay but even more money isnt convincing most guys to play there. For this offseason to be considered even remotely successful they really need to re sign Vladdy. All I’m asking is for Vlad to be extended and I think the rest falls into place but right now your biggest start is unsigned and unhappy. For the love of all that is good DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT YOU COWARDS!
