Panthers Win The Cup!

After the longest hockey season ever, the Florida Panthers (insert ferocious panther noises here 😉 ) have won the Stanley Cup! It was a hard fought seven game series and though the team I wanted to win wasn’t even playing (My poor, poor Habs), I can still find joy in some story lines; Kyle Okposo who has played more then 1000 career games and never gotten this far in his career before, gets to hoist his first Stanley Cup. And as icing on the cake for Okposo, he earned a $500K bonus which has to be paid out by the Buffalo Sabres (who were well represented on this roster). For the Oilers, it’s hard to lose. However, you played it out to the bitter end (losing 2-1 shows how close this really was). A quick depth retool and I’m sure we will see them back in the big dance in no time. Euro Madness

Sure the match only mattered to one side…. and sure one side rested the majority of their stars… but its hard not to be impressed by the Georgian side a few days ago during their Euros group stage match! With Portugal firmly at the top of the table, Georgia (the country, not the bulldogs!) needed a win to get in…. Against a team that has Ronaldo….. and THEN THEY DID! 2-0 was the final and the fans in the stadium were loving every second of it. Now I’m not going to pretend that I know any of the Georgian players or how to say their names but Portugal just couldn’t get it done. Have you watched any of the Euros or Copa? The other big thing I noticed is that American sportsbooks don’t really seem to understand soccer odds…. at all. Which leads me straight into my favorite section of the Newsletter!

WEEKEND WAGERS!

So I’m going to be betting mainly favorites here, but one of my new favorite Same-Game parlay bets is betting tie after 10 minutes. Soccer is not often known for a blistering pace of play. Therefore, I have absolutely been burned here but if you’re feeling a defensive struggle is looming, you can always bet a tie after 10 mins as an odds booster for any game. This weekend I’m giving you a dose of Euro and Copa fun so lets start with:
