Bobrovsky's On The Case!
Goaltender stands tall, remembering a legend and bet review
Bobrovsky Is On The Case!
Detective Sergei Bobrovsky was an unbeatable wall during game one of the Stanley Cup Final, earning himself his second post-season shutout this year. The Oilers looking like the better team throughout virtually the entire game, peppering Bobrov with 32 shots (and countless more attempts). Despite this, the potent Edmonton offense was unable to breakthrough. So what does that mean for Game two? I would imagine you’ll see a lot more McDavid and Draisaitl split up (The Panthers have one shut down pair of defensemen, so putting two elite guys together might lead to better opportunity). The question remains for the Oilers- How long until you can beat the wall?
Bet Review
On Friday, I dropped a few bets for the weekend and we had mixed results.
For the NHL: we hit on the Panthers (win outright) but lost out on the over on goals. In Formula One, we narrowly missed going perfect.
Max won, Lando made the podium, & Lewis in the points all hit, but we missed out narrowly on Oscar hitting the podium (we had everything in place until lap 66 out of 70).
Finally, we missed on our NBA picks with the Celtics winning by 7 (push) and missing on the over 214.5.
Overall we went 4-3-1 out of our 8 bets placed. Make sure you subscribe to the newsletter and look out for Fridays edition with some more bets.
Remembering The Legend
On this date in 2016, we lost the legendary Gordie Howe. The hockey world will never be the same and his impact will be felt for generations. So in memory of Mr. Hockey, let’s take a look at a few of his most memorable stats/moments:
Playing in 1767 Career games, he amassed a remarkable 1850 points (+160 for his Career). He spent the bulk of his time playing for the Detroit Red Wings; (1946-1971) his total career spanned 26 years in the NHL and 6 years in the WHA (which was then absorbed by the NHL). Howe played right until 1980 which is absolutely insane to think about in todays terms. And a final quote to leave you with:
“ I always tell the kids, you have two eyes and one mouth. Keep two open and one closed. You never learn anything if you’re the one talking”
RIP Mr Hockey.
