Battle in the Bronx
AL east giants rekindle battles and a weekend wagers
Fighting back into contention
The Red Sox kick off a 3 game series in the Bronx tonight and it’s been night and day for these two teams since the last time they squared off at Fenway. That series was on 6/15 and since that time the yankees are 4-13 and the Sox are 12-4. This series is going to be a big one since the two clubs both sit in the wildcard as i write this and this could be a big benchmark for the Red Sox front office with the trade deadline looming. If we continue getting some good results there’s no reason this team can’t be buyers at the deadline. We have a plethora of prospects scattered through all levels of our farm system and the ones we’ve called up have been huge for us this season. Jarren Duran is playing like prime Mookie Betts right now and the country is finally starting to take notice. Cedanne Rafaela has been incredible in his rookie season and seems to get better by the day. Triston Casas is a godsend on and off the field (look up his Father’s Day story if you wanna see what i mean) and the pitching has been far better than I’ve expected it to be all year and that’s with Bello struggling since coming back from that injury early in the year. Are we world beaters? No. But what I’m saying is this: The Boston RedSox are playing well above expectations right now, we have the money and prospects to make some big moves, and the kids might force John Henry’s hand and make him spend some god damn money. Happy Fourth of July everybody. Make sure to subscribe to all the socials and check out the Ocho live Wednesday nights on YouTube Facebook and Twitter.
Weekend wager
My one weekend wager is this:
Lando Norris to win Silverstone (F1) +175. He’s lead both practice sessions and seems to have the quicker car overall chasing down Max last weekend. Let’s see if the Brit can win a home race for the first time since Sir Lewis did a few years back.
sorry for the short newsletter today gang! Dubs and I will have your weekend wagers and more next week once I return from the UK.
